Toko Junior Hockey
This season children from both Milton Primary and St Marys School have combined to form a Year 5/6 junior hockey team named Toko Juniors. Each Wednesday they play teams from Dunedin and surrounding areas at either Taieri High in Mosgiel or on the McMillan Turf in Dunedin. Games are played as six-a-side with the playing area reduced to either a third or half of the turf.
The team started the season with lots of enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Week by week they are continuing to develop their skills and have demonstrated their ability to work well together as a team. They have recorded all but one win so far demonstrating Toko has as much hockey talent as other schools in the competition.
Toko Juniors are well supported by both their parents and the wider community, and are very grateful to McLay Boats for the sponsorship of their team tee shirts.
